This silk scarf features an image showing Esfandiyar and the Dragon. The image was borrowed from the illustration of a 17th-century Shahnameh manuscript, its whereabouts are now unknown. The painting is currently kept in RISD Museum in Providence, USA. © RISD 17.450 In this episode, the hero Esfandiyar slays a dragon as his third quest. Esfandiyar cleverly hides in a horse-drawn carriage fitted with spears. The dragon swallows the carriage whole, but the spears wound the beast from within, allowing Esfandiyar to then slay the beast with his sword Maison Nazanin was founded by Iranian-born designer Nazanin and London-born economist Adam in 2024.
