Shahnameh wearable design

The original image used for the scarf depicts the episode from the Shahnameh by Ferdowsi ‘Isfandiyar’s Fifth Ordeal; He must slay the Simurgh’.

The illustration is currently held in Copenhagen in The David Collection, Inv. no. 32/1988. Originally, it belonged to the manuscript of the Shahnameh commissioned by Shah Tahmasp.

In order to slay the Simurgh, Esfandiyar makes a carriage with blades. After the Simurgh has wounded itself, Isfandiyar jumps out to kill the bird.
