Shahnameh pouch

This pouch from Ador Style features images from the story ‘Isfandiyar’s Fifth Ordeal; He Must Slay the Simurgh’.

The images are based on a folio of the Shahnameh of Shah Tahmasp, currently held in The David Collection.

In order to slay the Simurgh, Isfandiyar makes a carriage with blades. After the Simurgh has wounded itself, Isfandiyar jumps out to kill the bird.
