This corset, by digitial fashion designer iamishinam, features an image showing Barbad concealing himself in a tree.

The image is borrowed from the illustration of the Shahnameh manuscript commissioned by Shah Tahmasp in 16 Century.The painting titled ‘The musician Barbad conceals himself in a tree’ is currently held in The Khalili Collections. © MSS 1030 folio 731.

Barbad sneaks into the Shah’s garden during the celebrations of Nouruz and hides in the tree. He begins to play his lute and everyone is entranced, trying to search for the musician. The Shah proclaims that if the musician is found, he would become the royal minstrel. Barbad, on hearing this, jumps from the tree and falls at the Shah’s feet.
